Here we are again.
We know it’s been longer than expected but, well, the truth is we all have been busy working in the festival though not as visibly as we wished.
Anyway, the important thing is that we are back again and, as you will find out, it’s been worth the wait. There’s much for you to discover in the upcoming weeks and months.
For those who regularly come and visit us, you will notice that we haven’t changed substantially the design of our website. We wanted to ensure a certain continuity with last year’s one plus, for practical reasons, we decided to stick with what proved to work best instead of wasting much time in exploring new territories that might, perhaps, cause further delays.
What’s surely different is the home page. Here we included a brand new blog that should help us keep you updated on the festival both in English and in Spanish.
In any case, do not forget that there are always e-mails and a message board (http://foro.bsospirit.com/publico/index.php) where you are free to share your thoughts and/or comments with us. It is an open environment and everyone is invited to join.
What else… there’s a new member in the team. His name is José Carlos Fernández Moscoso and he has been appointed as the head of our Press Department. We wish him all the best on this new venture.
In addition, a few other people have recently joined the Ubeda team. We will let you know there names and positions on due time so you can address them, should you have any particular need.
Last but not least, let me tell you that this weekend we are going to start making all fresh announcements. A new composer is coming to Ubeda!
We have already given some useful hints in our message board. He is a different breed of composer. We are sure there’s one particular group of fans that will be very happy to hear he’s signed on as he has been devoted to a very specific genre for many, many years. He was part of a very relevant band in the 80’s and, nowadays, he is not only active in writing music for films but also touring with his new band.
Let me get something very clear before we disclose his name: this year’s festival is trying to be very rich and diverse in terms of our guests. We are currently busy working to confirm a slew of additional composers, some of whom we know are very much appreciated by film music enthusiasts worldwide. In fact, a few days from now we will share a few thoughts with you as to where we stand on this end.
And, by the way, mid-February will be registration time! This year pre-registration won’t be necessary for obvious reasons: we have started too late in the year.
This year’s rates will be the same as in 2008 in case you want to participate in all activities (except those that are priced separately such as the luncheon, the Flamenco party and a few more that are still under discussion). Please remember that a ticket for the full-festival was 100 euros. It will be possible to break up the payment. Furthermore, there will be a number of packages and discounts with various options.
Finally, we also want you to know that we are currently trying to reach several agreements to ensure that accommodation and food are even more affordable than ever for participants in the event. We know that this is a tough year for all of us and so, we surely want your stay in Ubeda to be as inexpensive as possible.
Let’s keep in touch and don’t forget to visit our website to check out for updates!
